The project was developed around the principles of reducing, reusing and recycling. We specified low-carbon concrete incorporating up to 80% cement replacement from industrial by-products and designed out steel reinforcement from most of the structure. We also reused 52 tonnes of reclaimed hardwood from the adjacent beach for structural elements and cladding.
