We use your contact details and information you provide to respond to architectural, consultancy or general enquiries.
Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract and/or our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and developing our business.

Marketing
We may send news, project updates or other marketing communications where permitted by law. Where consent is required, we will obtain it separately and you may withdraw it at any time.
Lawful basis: consent or legitimate interests where permitted by UK data-protection law and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
You are not required to agree to marketing in order to submit an architectural or project enquiry.
Sharing personal information
We may share personal information where necessary with service providers who support our business, such as:
- website hosting and IT providers;
- email and cloud-storage providers;
- analytics providers;
- professional advisers;

- public authorities or regulators where required by law.
Where another organisation acts as our processor, we require it to process personal information only for authorised purposes and to maintain appropriate security safeguards.
International transfers
Some technology or cloud-service providers may process or make personal information accessible outside the UK.
Where this constitutes a restricted transfer under UK data-protection law, we will ensure that an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as UK adequacy regulations, an approved international data-transfer mechanism or another lawful transfer arrangement. The ICO’s current guidance treats both sending information abroad and making it accessible to an organisation outside the UK as potentially restricted transfers.
Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to comply with professional, contractual, insurance, tax and legal requirements.
Retention periods vary according to the type of information and our relationship with you. When information is no longer required, it will be securely deleted, anonymised or archived in accordance with our retention procedures.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to:
- be informed about how your information is used;
- access your personal information;
- correct inaccurate information;
- request erasure;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;

The ICO identifies these transparency and individual-rights requirements as central obligations under UK GDPR.
To exercise a right, contact hello@footprintarchitects.co.uk.
Automated decision-making
Footprint Architects does not currently use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on website visitors or prospective clients.
