Associate Architect

Mike joined Footprint Architects in 2014 and has led the delivery of a range of award-winning education, community and residential projects within the practice including three low carbon Passivhaus projects. His most recent award being The RIBA South West & Wessex Building of The Year & RIBA Sustainability Award for his work on Durley Chine Environmental Hub. He leads the development of residential design, and the practices drive towards carbon neutrality.

Having worked on a range of restoration projects on listed homes in conservation areas and historical buildings in town centres he is constantly looking for innovative ways to re-use materials and incorporate sustainable principles to develop buildings that are environmentally sensitive. He previously worked for practices in Liverpool and Brisbane undertaking large scale education projects, and a practice based in Winchester that specialised in high end residential architecture. Mike continually inspires members of the team to push boundaries on what can be achieved in low carbon design.

Mike qualified from the University of Liverpool with a BA(Hons), BArch and the Sheppard Robson Award for Sustainability In Design. He concluded his professional qualification at the University of Portsmouth.

He is a keen footballer and has recently taken up kiteboarding as a summer addition to his love of snowboarding. Mike loves to travel and is slowly making his way around the world.
